Description

In this construction, the "V n n" form is used with a reflexive pronoun (myself, yourself, himself, herself, ourselves, themselves). This means that the Agent is also the Recipient of the Theme, and the overall meaning is that the Agent secures a Theme for themselves. Many of the verbs used in this construction are also compatible with other "V n n" constructions (e.g. get, buy), but some are more common in the Getting "V -self n" construction, and others such as carve and wangle are only used in this construction.
